Mugs
All of my mugs are thrown on the wheel using porcelain stoneware clay. The graphic on each mug gets hand-carved into the surface using the sgraffito technique, which involves covering the mug’s surface with our handmade black slip, then carving that away until the image is finished. This means you can feel the slightly raised, carved texture when you wrap your hands around a hot cup of tea or coffee. While I create a variety of different designs, each mug is made and decorated individually, so no two pieces are identical. Each design is matched with one of our hand-mixed, brightly coloured glazes.
Each of my mugs are unique and may vary slightly in colour and design from what is pictured below.
Sizing : All of my mugs are handmade, so individual sizes may differ slightly. I do my best to keep them as consistent as possible. Approximately 500mL. Stands about 13cm tall and is 9cm wide at the base.
ALL OF MY MUGS ARE MICROWAVE AND DISHWASHER SAFE.
Nature Series
Bear Mug
Bear with me: you need this mug. Think of hiking, the forest, towering trees, pine needles crunching underfoot, trickling creek water and the taste of the perfectly fresh air. Who wouldn’t want a coffee break this peaceful?
Bee Mug (Side 1)
I created my original bee mug for a local honey company that operates out of the foothills. However, I felt that it needed a bit of a makeover so I turned to Instagram, where I received a great deal of collaborative input. Revel in the beautiful outdoors with a tankard of mead in this baby.

Bison Mug
Let your mind wander the wide-open plains with your bison mug in hand, picturing the golden grass and the vast, cloudless, rich blue sky. What says “prairies” better than a bison mug?
Blue Heron Mug
The blue heron symbolizes self-reliance, self-determination, and progress within oneself. The perfect mug-buddy for a strong, independent coffee drinker. Or anyone who thinks blue herons are pretty!
Butterfly Mug
This butterfly design reminds me of summer days, spent lying in the grass and soaking up the lovely sun. What better way to have your morning coffee!
Camping Backpack Mug (Side 1)
There is truly nothing better than packing my over night bag and taking off for a couple of days in the mountains. I love the silence, the smells and the fresh air, even the food seems to taste better once you’ve cooked it outside.

Cat Mug
Our cat mug is purrfect for those cat lovers who like to curl up with a cup of something warm in the sunshine, keeping your feline friend company in the best spot in the house.

Chickadee Mug
One of the friendliest birds you’ll find in your backyard or the park, Chickadees have an interesting annual practice. Every year in the fall, Black-capped Chickadees allow their body to rid the brain of neurons that store old, useless information – a habit that I should probably start!
Cow Mug
I find that cows have the loveliest eyes. I grew up on a farm, and this mug brings back the peaceful sound of cowbells gently ringing in the background as they watched us go about our daily activities.
Dragonfly Mug
Some people believe dragonflies are the spirit of people who have passed away while others understand them to symbolize change and self-realization. My mom has always thought that they were fairies, bringing good luck to her garden. Ideally, you should use this mug surrounded by your garden, whether that is a single plant pot on your windowsill or an entire backyard.
Emerald Lake Mug
One of the most astounding aspects of our beautiful Rockies is the colour of the lakes. I felt like I simply couldn’t continue to exclude this from my mugs. This one is of Emerald Lake located in Yoho National Park.
Hummingbird Mug
The hummingbird represents an ancient symbol of joy and happiness. Its colorful appearance brings good luck and positive energy to our lives. No matter what your challenges are, the hummingbird spirit animal is there to help and guide you.
Magpie Mug
I have always thought that magpies were rather posh, beautiful birds, which I find appropriate, given their penchant for anything shiny. Magpies are the rogues of the animal kingdom, catching the sparkle in your eye, charming the watch off your wrist and stealing your heart before flying off into the sunset.
Moose Mug
Have you ever seen a moose? The first time I ever saw one was in Algonquin park the only sound to be heard was the wind whispering between the white pines and our paddles slipping through the water. When we looked up there was a moose, grazing in the shallow water of Lake Opeongo.
Mountain Lake Mug

Mushroom Mug
Take a trip with this rad mushroom mug when you have your morning cup of tea.
Owl Mug
For all the night owls out there, we have the mug for your warm milk. Then your hot chocolate. And your cup of caffeine-free tea. As well as the second, third, fourth and as many as it takes to get you through the night. Finally, he’s also there for you in the morning with coffee, so you can pretend like you actually slept last night.

Rabbit Mug
We live very near a provincial park, so our front lawn is a bit of a wildlife hotspot. I leave all the dead plants in my garden on purpose, as summer draws to a close, so these lovelies have something to snack on during the long, cold, dark, depressing winter months. After reading that, you’ll need this mug to warm up.
Racoon Mug
We all have garbage mornings and for this, there is only one cure: the nocturnal garbage thief. The racoon mug is great for stealing away with our trashy mornings, so the second cup always tastes a little sweeter. Don’t worry, he always washes his hands before breakfast.
Raven Mug
Ravens and humans have a dubious relationship. In literature, they’re often portrayed as a bad omen, an evil bird associated with witchcraft. Yet, these ebony-feathered birds are also revered for their cleverness. Few birds stir up as much emotion as this one does.
Robin Mug
A lovely springtime robin, enjoying the first blossoms of the season! The best part is that you can savour this hint of spring all year long.
Sea Turtle Mug
Sea turtles live in almost every ocean basin throughout the world, so if you’re dreaming of a little beach time, this is the right mug for you!
Squirrel Mug
Did you know that squirrels often end up losing about 25 percent of their stored food? Hopefully, the little guy on this mug will leave your stash of snacks alone!
Located in Canmore, in 1883 this mountain range was called the Three Nuns. In the traditional language of the Îyârhe Nakoda the peaks are also referred to as the three sisters. However, the name refers to a story of Ĩ-ktomnĩ, not the three nuns. The story is about the old man or trickster, who would promise ‘three sisters’ in marriage whenever he was in trouble. They came to be known more widely as the Three Sisters in 1886 when George Dawson renamed them. Individually they are referred to as Big Sister, Middle Sister and Little Sister. We love taking regular trips up to Canmore for hikes and I am not sure it would be the same without this iconic range.
Painted Wheat Mug
Wheat, iconic imagery of the agricultural west. Pairing perfectly with a freshly baked loaf of bread, let this mug warm up your kitchen with its rustic, prairie appeal.
Wolf Mug
Did you know that a wolf has 42 teeth? But don’t worry, this sweet little guy is a cozy companion for your morning tea!
Flower Series
Bluebell Daisy Mug
These daisies, set against a cloudless, light blue sky, evoke images of daisy chains, picnics, and lazy summer days filled with laughter. Add some bluebells, the flower fairies said it best “My hundred thousand bells of blue; The splendour of the Spring!”
Calendula Mug
These calendulas, set against a cloudless, light blue sky, evoke images of daisy chains, picnics, and lazy summer days filled with laughter.
Crocus Mug
Alberta’s prairie crocus is an anemone plant, which are known as windflowers because it was believed that they blossomed only when the wind blew in springtime.

Day Lilly
At my house my daughter always called these tiger lilies because she assumed the day lilies protected her fairy garden from potential threats. Now we can safely assume this mug will also keep your tea or coffee guarded from those who would steal a sip!
Echinacea Mug
When the echinacea or the cone flower begins to bloom in my garden it is a sure sign that fall is soon to arrive.
Forget-Me-Not Mug
The flower fairies said it best “My hundred thousand bells of blue; The splendour of the Spring!”
Morning Glory Mug
As the name suggests, most morning glory flowers unfurl into full bloom in the early morning. The flowers usually start to fade a few hours before sunset, not unlike myself.
Peony Mug
Peonies make fine sentinels lining walkways or a lovely low hedge. After its stunning bloom, the peony’s bushy clump of handsome glossy green leaves lasts all summer. This mug will last you even longer!
Poppy Mug
Poppies maintain a kind of stoic serenity year-round, pulling you into daydreams filled with clear skies, swishing grasses and the distant hum of beetles and crickets. Here, delicate blossoms are juxtaposed with rugged seed pods, all supported by tall, slender stalks and topped with that iconic red.
Rainbow Daisy Mug
Whimsical and fun, these hand-painted daisies remind of all the best vibrant summer gardens rolled into one.

Sunflower Mug
I created my original sunflower mug for a local honey company that operates out of the foothills. However, I felt that it needed a bit of a makeover so I turned to Instagram, where I received a great deal of collaborative input. Tulip Mug
Tulips are one of the first flowers that arrive in my garden here in Calgary. I wanted to add a splash of colour to this design just like these flowers do to my yard after a long and dreary winter.
